Scope of Responsibilities:
- Demonstrate enthusiasm and interpersonal skills in order to relate well with children, parents, co-workers, administrators, and the community

Lesson Planning and Classroom Management
- Collaborate with classroom team members to develop lesson plans with goals, objectives, activities, and outcomes for children that integrate health, nutrition, mental health, disabilities, and parent involvement
- Gather, arrange and display children’s work to help in a manner appropriate for their eye level
- Assist classroom team to maintain an attractive, clean, safe, and engaging classroom environment that includes positive guidance techniques and that encourages support children's independence and self-selection of activities
- Model and implement family-style eating during meal times
- Regularly sanitize all surfaces, classroom toys, equipment, and laundry
- Assist with classroom management, arrangement, organization, and labeling materials
- Assume joint share of classroom team to maintain a safe, clean, environment, and practice good personal hygiene and frequent hand washing
- Assist with completion of classroom inventory quarterly and the selection of materials and equipment to support instruction and children’s learning
Assist in Evaluations, Assessments, and Reports
- Timely and accurately administer required screenings
- Observe, document, and assess children’s health, skills, behavior, growth, and development
- Follow the established system for collecting and managing daily observations of children, including weekly entries on-line
- Take pictures and maintain anecdotal notes, written observations, and other approved forms of documentation for each child
- Maintain documentation of each child’s progress and growth according to Head Start guidelines and the methods of Teaching Strategies GOLD
- Input classroom data into appropriate information systems, as required (TSG, Home Visits, and Parent/Teacher Conferences)
- Adhere to timelines and complete child assessment information, at least four times annually
- Complete all necessary paperwork for classroom activities including attendance and meal count sheets
- Assume joint share of the classroom team to maintain and ensure accurate and up-to-date education folders and portfolios for each child

Requirements:
- Associate’s Degree or equivalent in Child Development/Early Childhood Education or related field with a minimum of 15 college credit hours in Early Childhood Education
- At least 3 months of experience working in a classroom setting required
- Must pass DCFS background check and maintain clearance throughout employment
- Must meet annual physical requirements
- Experience working with children ages 3-5 years old preferred
- Ability to read, comprehend and interpret documents such as policies and procedures

Scope of Responsibilities:
- Provide a positive climate, responsive caregiving, and continuity to help children develop secure relationships while focusing on the children’s social and emotional well-being.
- Work with an assigned group of infants, toddlers and two’s, applying best practices for care and physical safety
- Facilitate and nurture the development of each child’s self-esteem, trust, and growing autonomy.

- Follow a consistent schedule that meets the individual needs of each child, including skill development, meals, napping, and effective transition between activities.
- Respond quickly and appropriately to children’s different and personal needs (verbal and non-verbal cues) and temperament styles
- Engage and guide children at play, meeting them at their physical level (kneeling, bending, or sitting on the floor).
- Complete at least thirty clock hours of professional development annually, through participation in offered training, workshops, in-service days, all staff conferences; and maintain a log of professional development achievements, including documents supporting completion.
- Participate and support agency/center efforts toward recruitment, enrollment, attendance, and retention of eligible families.
- Support the YMCA’s mission and center operations as needed.
Lesson Planning and Classroom Management
- Create and maintain an engaging learning environment that encourages exploration, interactions with adult caregivers, and independence
- Provide designated areas in the classroom to exhibit displays of families, children, and their work.
- Develop lesson plans with goals, objectives, and outcomes that integrate health, nutrition, mental health, disabilities, and parent activities.
- Provide age-appropriate and individual learning experiences that incorporate social-emotional and cognitive development, early language and literacy, physical development, and integration of the arts.
- Establish a professional rapport and work cooperatively with adults assigned to the classroom (e.g. Teachers, Assistants, Aides, Para-professionals, Parents, and Volunteers), establishing clear expectations for roles and responsibilities.
- Communicate regularly and convene meetings with the classroom team to review classroom and child data, seek input, discuss strategies, develop plans and create a cooperative relationship and environment.
- Supply suitable materials concrete and relevant to the children’s interests and culture that promotes high-quality early learning.
- Complete classroom inventory quarterly; identify and select materials, supplies, and equipment to support children’s learning; and rotate materials to maintain and encourage new learning.

Assist in Evaluations, Assessments, and Reports
- Administer and accurately document initial and ongoing development using required screening tools at established intervals.
- Observe children to evaluate and record their progress, recommend and complete referrals for further evaluation.
- Participate in initial and additional internal and external staffing with parent and FSW on all children suspected and/or identified with special needs.
- Establish and maintain a system for collecting and managing daily observations of children.
- Complete observation and quarterly assessment of individual children according to methods of Teaching Strategies GOLD.
- Generate and complete reports using them for planning and sharing information with others.
- Maintain up-to-date child education file and portfolio progress and development.
- Enter individual child and classroom data into appropriate information systems according to established guidelines and timeframes.
- Complete and timely submit required paperwork (e.g. health check, attendance, meals, communication logs, lesson plans, and monthly reports).

- 1 -3 years in an early childhood classroom required, preferably in a NAEYC accredited program and/or an Early Head Start or Prevention Initiative funded program
- Must pass DCFS background check and maintain clearance throughout employment

- Experience using Creative Curriculum and Teaching Strategies Gold preferred

The Family Support Specialist, in collaboration with the site director, ensures that the program serves the number of eligible children for which it is funded. In partnership with parents, the Family Service Worker develops mutually trusting relationships, acts as an advocate for families and provides support services as needed. Scope of Responsibilities:
- In cooperation with the Site Director, develop and implement recruitment plan to assure maximum enrollment, and maintain an up-to-date waiting list. Complete all related recruitment tracking instruments and reports, as required.
- Determine children’s eligibility for all program models assigned at the site (EHS/HS/PI/PFA/CCAP).
- Complete and maintain all required documentation for enrollment, per funding sources.
- Provide case management services to families in the program, including direct services to families by assisting them in determining family strengths, needs and goals.
- Conduct initial and ongoing assessments of family needs; develop resources; provide referrals and supportive services to assist families in meeting identified needs; and document and report on all social service activity, as required.

- Implement the Parents as Teachers curriculum, providing monthly individual and group socialization activities for families of infants, toddlers and two year olds.

Requirements:

- Assist Site Director with family and staff recruitment; and the EC Operations Manager with staff interviews, selections, orientation, supervision, ongoing professional development, and evaluation.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field
- Erikson Infant Toddler Specialization Certificate or an Ilinois Gateways Level 5 Infant and Toddler Credential (Applicants without I/T credentials will not be considered)
- Previous work experience in a childcare setting with some knowledge of Head Start and the Creative Curriculum
- At least 6 college credit hours in caring for children with disabilities
- Familiarity with DFSS's current computerized system (COPA)
- 2-3 years of supervisory experience is preferred

Program Director for Housing and Social Services
This position is grant funded- salary $60,000.00-$70,000.00 annually

This position will provide direct supervision and oversight of Case Managers and case management activities that service housing residents. Scope of Responsibilities:
- Oversee Case Management Services at the YMCA SRO housing facilities
- Provide individualized supervision and case consult to direct service staff. Support the professional growth of social work staff through role modeling, workshops, presentations and individual supervision
- Work with staff to plan and implement group interventions consistent with the needs of the service populations
- In collaboration with the Executive Directors of Lake View and Irving Park Y and leaders in the Y’s Legal, Finance and Community Investment and Social Responsibility team, develop policies and procedures consistent with housing first and social work practice standards
- Plan and participate in emergency interventions, as dictated by the circumstances and in accordance with association policies
- Network with ancillary service providers as benefits our service population, establishing Memoranda of Understanding as appropriate; instruct direct service staff in such networking techniques
- Oversee, monitor and update reporting systems, strategizing in order to meet grant deliverables and optimize participant outcomes. Prepare for regularly scheduled program audits; train direct service staff in daily compliance standards. Collaborate with the Research and Evaluation team and other housing staff on monitoring metrics for program success and using data for continuous improvement
- Implement and monitor program expenditure procedures as it relates to direct service experience
- Collaborate with Research and Evaluation as well as other members of the Community Investment and Social Responsibility team to redesign and develop new program design components as needed, supported by program evaluation and best-practices research
- Collaborate with Mission Advancement and Research and Evaluation on grant writing and reporting
- Work with other stakeholders to identify and implement business process synergies that benefit housing constituents and overall association operating efficiencies
- Maintain a small caseload of 5 housing residents

Requirements:
- Master of Social Work Degree or a MA Degree in a related field
- 3-5 years’ experience supervising case managers
- Experience and knowledge of housing policies, procedures and best practices
- Written and verbal communication skills
- Demonstrated interpersonal skills in order to effectively collaborate with internal and external constituents and partners

The Senior Grant Accountant provides technical accounting, budget and other administrative support for Program Managers, under the direction of VP of Administration/Controller. Responsibilities include monitoring, analyzing and maintaining financial transactions for a wide variety of social service programs; tracking revenues and expenditures, and preparing required internal and external financial reports.
The successful candidate will perform complex, technical grants accounting work involving varying fiscal years and requiring greater independent judgment within the framework of existing accounting policies and procedures. Scope of Responsibilities:
- Provide advanced, technical grants accounting support work for Program Managers and department programs.
- Monitor, analyze and maintain financial transactions and accounting for a wide variety of social service programs funded by Federal, state and local grants and allocations.
- Monitor fiscal compliance by subcontractors and sub-recipients with various reporting periods.
- Track revenues and expenditures by funding source and/or subcontract. Reconcile grant and program financial statements to the program budgets, which may include many different sites.
- Ensure there is an appropriate cost allocation plan maintained and updated as necessary and that expenses allocated to grants are consistent to the plan.
- Participate in fiscal monitoring as required by Funding Agencies.
- Review data, identify errors through analysis, research, and interpretation of data, and provide recommendations to the VP of Finance Administration and/or Program Manager in determining corrective action.
- Work closely with interdepartmental staff, Internal Audit and Compliance, Legal, Centers Business Office and Federal, state and local governmental agencies.
- Provide accounting information and technical assistance to subcontractors and sub-recipients when necessary.
- Work with funding authorities to correct or adjust outages.
- Report financial grant information from a variety of revenue sources with many element codes.
- Prepare a variety of reports, statements, records, analyses, and financial compilations for Federal, state, and local regulatory agencies with various reporting periods according to specifications according to program needs.
- Prepare grant close-outs and periodic reports.
- Prepare, maintain, and track complex or extensive billings and financial information for their respective grants.
- Prepare financial projections for RFPs, RFQs, and subcontracts.
- Voucher on contract awards and prepares the necessary billing documents, as appropriate. Track due dates and prepare reports for grantor agencies, verify invoices for allowable costs, and prepare monthly grant requests for reimbursement. Some vouchers will include multiple sites that require consolidation and tracking at the site level.
- Maintain and document internal accounting controls as required by Federal, state and local grantors to ensure appropriate use of public funds. Must be familiar with 2 CFR 200, Single Audit and related pronouncements regarding Federal, state and local pass-through funds.
- Assist in recommending and implementing fiscal reform both in department systems and in subcontractor/ sub-recipient financial and compliance reporting systems.
- Assist in development and implementation of administrative, program and subcontract budgets. Contribute to developing modifications to procedures and forms.
- Perform work using spreadsheet, database, and word processing programs. Support the Accounts Payable process in Coupa as defined.
- Maintain knowledge of department operations and systems. Perform work within accounting parameters established by the department and applicable Federal and state laws and regulations.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum and Required Requirements:
- Seven years of progressive accounting experience, at least two of which are directly related to grant accounting
- OR
- A Bachelor’s degree or the equivalent, in accounting, finance, business administration or a related field from an accredited college or university.
- Any combination of training and experience that would provide the required knowledge, skills and abilities will be considered.
- Knowledge of general accounting principles and practices; 2 CFR 200, Single Audit;
- Computer applications related to financial reporting (database, spreadsheet, word processing); general office practices and procedures; governmental structure, accounting and budget procedures and practices; unique accounting issues relating to Federal, state and local grants.
- Ability to plan, design and implement specialized financial accounting procedures and reports; research, analyze and interpret complex accounting data; prepare clear, concise financial reports for managers, grantors, and other internal and external users; evaluate current accounting policies and procedures and recommend improvements; develop and maintain effective working relationships with those contacted in the course of work.

What you’ll do:
- Provide a high-level of customer service to members, program participants and guests at all times
- Supervise and guard the pool and aquatic facility and ensure participants adhere to all YMCA aquatic guidelines and procedures.
- Examine injured persons and administer first aid or cardiopulmonary resuscitation, if necessary, using training and medical supplies and equipment.

As an Aquatics Program Manager, you will be responsible for coordinating and supervising the day-to-day operation of the aquatic programs which includes planning, promoting, creating, and coordinating programs. This also includes maintaining records, scheduling staff, and ensuring proper pool maintenance. Minimum and Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Physical Education, Recreation, or related field and/or equivalent experience
- 2 years or more of recreation/aquatics-related experience. Prior team leadership/supervisory experience is essential with the ability to collaborate with others and attract, motivate, and effectively coach teams.
- Strong customer service orientation with the ability to relate well with a diverse set of youth, parents, and volunteers. Demonstrates safe and age-appropriate strategies in interactions with youth.
- Strong verbal, written and presentation skills with the ability to effectively lead in-services and trainings essential
- Ability to organize and prioritize multiple, competing priorities to maximize personal and team effectiveness.
- Demonstrated interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively build and maintain relationships with stakeholders and constituents.
- Current, relevant Aquatics training and certifications (e.g., lifeguard, swim instructor, CPR for Professional Rescuer) or the ability to be certified within 30 days of hire. This includes ability to pass a water skills/swim test.
