Make a Difference in Your Community!     The Regional Maintenance Manager is responsible for the execution of facility plans and the provision of engineering, maintenance and repair services at multiple, assigned YMCA locations regionally to ensure a positive member/participant experience and optimize resources. Make a Difference in Your Community!   Camp Health Officer - Camp Independence   A special place for children and young adults with spina bifida and other neurological disabilities.   The camp program is designed to teach life skills, foster independence, build confidence, teach leadership and increase self-esteem. Located near Fox Lake in northern Illinois, Camp Independence offers one-week residential camp sessions in the summer and weekend winter retreats.   The camp is situated on 300 acres, and a 90-acre, semi-private lake called Fish Lake. The Camp Independence building is a state-of-the-art facility with two dormitory-style sleeping rooms, several fully-accessible bathrooms, and a full basement for activities and storm shelter. Meals are served in the beautiful Great Room or in the main lodge. Campers will enjoy three nutritionally balanced, “camper friendly” meals daily and an evening snack. A five-station high ropes course, indoor Olympic size swimming pool, large sport fields, kayaks, basketball courts, campfire ring, and a 48-ft climbing tower are a part of the exciting program and facilities.   Job Summary: The Overnight Camp Health Officer is a seasonal position. Under the direct supervision of the Camp Director, the Health Officer is responsible for proper health care and first aid for campers and staff.   Scope and Responsibilities: - Collect all campers and staff medication keep them locked up and dispense as directed - Perform a wellness check all campers & staff for communicable diseases, health problems, illnesses as directed in the written health procedures. - Collect and file all camper and staff health forms. - Maintain all first aid kits. - Maintain standing order medication and report medication or supply needs to the camp director. - Maintain daily treatment log. - Be readily available for first aid emergencies and other contingencies. - Secure proper treatment for campers and staff requiring a Doctor's or hospital attention. - Give a brief health check to campers leaving the camp property for overnight trips.
