The Senior Regional Program Director of Early Learning has primary responsibility for operational management and instructional quality of Early Learning and Early Learning Enrichment programming at the association level. Scope of Responsibilities
Program and Operations Management
- Disseminates the YMCA’s vision for early learning programming, including but not limited to preschool and early learning enrichment programs, establishes culture, and drives the strategic plan for the portfolio.
- Develops and executes on short‐and long term plans for the region to expand early learning programming and partners.
- Cultivates relationships with educational, community, and civic leaders and other potential external partners to articulate the YMCA’s value while displaying cultural and community awareness; creates new and innovative solutions with partners to meet community needs within fiscal guidelines.
- Champions instructional quality as an instructional leader and partners with R &E and others to ensure we deliver high‐quality programming.
- Ensures that programs adhere to all safety policies and guidelines the YMCA and external partners set.
- Ensures compliance with government and grant contracts within contract guidelines.
- Partners internally and externally to seek out and develop new revenue streams and collaborative programming opportunities to supplement, enhance, stabilize, and expand early learning programming and initiatives.
- Develops a high‐performance culture by setting expectations, evaluating performance, coaching for success, and being in continuous improvement. Leads and champions program continuous improvement efforts within the portfolio.
- Provides leadership to exempt and full/part‐time non‐exempt staff and volunteers and provides on-site and off-site program support in leadership’s absence to ensure DCFS compliance.
- Provides leadership to early learning program launches and new program development.
- Creates and manages operating budgets; meets/exceeds budget forecast, including revenue and margin targets.
- Supports the mission and strategic plan of the YMCA with other projects and responsibilities as assigned.
Team Management
- Provides professional development to team members to enhance staff learning, career development, and operational effectiveness. Facilitates meetings, in‐services, and internal/external presentations.
- Identifies, manages, and motivates a high‐performing team that accomplishes program objectives. Hires, on boards and trains team members and provides ongoing training and development in accordance with program standards. Ensures staff are compliant with required training and certifications. Creates partnerships with external stakeholders to build strong acquition pipelines.
- Establishes specific, measurable performance standards for staff and communicates those expectations to staff through various platforms. Monitors and evaluates team goals and performance standards. Evaluates team members and provide coaching and intervention, as necessary. Coaches, mentors, and develops team members to optimize performance.
- Manages time and attendance for current staff, ensuring that time is accurately recorded in the HRIS system.
Minimum and Preferred Requirements
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent education or experience with a master’s degree preferred.
- 18 credit hours in Early Childhood Education or child development related coursework and 3 credit hours in an administration course.
- 2 years or more experience in early childhood related setting.
- ExceleRate IL Director Credential Level 1 preferred.
- Minimum of 5 ‐ 7 years successful leadership and supervisory experience. YMCA executive experience is a plus.
- Positive history of leadership in the areas of staff development, fund raising, program planning and innovation, budget development and management of fiscal control systems, financial development, strategic planning and community development.

The Member Greeter will be responsible for helping to set the tone of the member experience by engaging entrants in a friendly and polite manner as they enter and exit the building. What you will do:
- Provide a high-level of customer service to members, program participants and guests at all times.
- Supervise and guard the pool and aquatic facility and ensure participants adhere to all YMCA aquatic guidelines and procedures.
- Examine injured persons and administer first aid or cardiopulmonary resuscitation, if necessary, using training and medical supplies and equipment.
- Perform appropriate water rescues, when necessary, using rescue techniques and equipment.
- Contact emergency medical personal in case of serious injury.
- Actively participate in obtaining further water safety certifications.
- Attend all in-service trainings and staff meetings as scheduled by supervisor or center leadership team.
Requirements:
- Must be at least 16 years of age.
- Must successfully complete the American Red Cross Lifeguard Certification training or have current YMCA or American Red Cross certification as well as current First Aid, AED, CPR and Oxygen Administration certifications.
- Physical mobility to properly use aquatic equipment to rescue a 200 lb. person and meet other physical requirements required for job certification.
- Must be mentally alert to dangerous situations in order to assure the safety of all swimmers.
- Must be physically and mentally able to respond to emergencies and administer CPR and First Aid effectively.

- Contact parents of camper requiring physician's attention, overnight stay in health center or whenever is deemed necessary.
- Issue written health information to all staff of campers requiring medication and special allegories so that staff are aware.
- Report any incident to the camp director. All incident reports are filled out by camp director.
- Observe and advise camp director and staff on health, disease, sanitation and cleanliness issues.
Requirements:
- Must have a Bachelor's degree in Nursing or equivalent education experience
- Must be licensed by the state as a RN, EMT, or LP
- Must have current CPR and First Aid Certification

Scope of Responsibilities:
- Ensures that the YMCA is a vibrant community center meeting the needs of members, participants and families while executing on the strategic and operating plan.
- Manages the center in accordance with the policies, procedures and standards established by the Board of Managers of the YMCA of Metropolitan Chicago with counsel and guidance of the Center Board of Directors, where applicable.
