Under the direct supervisor of the Camp Director/Program Director, the Activity Director will provide support to the day-to-day camp operation. Responsible for assisting ropes programs, aquatic programs, teaching OEE classes and other program areas in need of support.
Be involved in all aspects of camp life while not running the ropes program
Responsible to assist APD in organizing and implementing horseback riding program
Serve on management staff, supervise staff and share OD responsibilities
Assist in daily organization and implementation program
Assist in the implementation of the High Ropes and Climbing Tower programs when possible
Teach OEE Classes for skill periods each session
Serve as a positive role model for staff and campers; set example of Caring, Honesty, Respect and Responsibility
Run and organize morning breakfast meetings
Provide leadership to staff training
Maintain high levels of safety standards and enforce all rules for campers and staff
Maintain a positive attitude and refrain from behavior that is detrimental to the staff team and staff moral. Communication is the key!
Keep the camp looking nice-pick up liter – it can be contagious
Deal with any staff management issues promptly – You are committing to report any staff issues to the Camp Director immediately. You are expected to not ask your staff do to anything that you would not do yourself
Assist in conducting mid-summer and end summer evaluations for counselors
